The Full Story
Welcome to ABTCA
Since 1949, the All Breed Training Club of Akron (ABTCA) has been helping people improve their relationships with their dogs and have fun doing it! We are an AKC recognized, volunteer-driven, growing organization committed to nurturing loyalty, love and wet noses in the greater Akron area! Our friendly members bring a wealth of canine knowledge and experience that we'd love to share with you. Class Offerings & Pricing
Dog & Handler Classes
Education is the core of our mission! We offer a wide range of dog classes from puppy to enrichment and specialty classes. Sessions are typically 5-6 weeks.

To register for a class, you must complete our class registration form and submit your pet’s vaccine records before your pet can attend class at ABTCA.

Class Pricing
ABTCA classes are competitively priced. Most classes are $95 for non-members for a 6-week session. Associate and Regular members in good standing earn discounts by volunteering. Learn more about becoming a member.
*Please note all Agility classes currently have a waitlist, to be added to the agility waitlist please email agility@akronallbreed.org.
Community Outreach
In addition to providing educational opportunities through classes, ABCTCA is active in our local community in a variety of ways! ​

Bailey's Book Club - providing books to local schools about dogs and dog ownership

Dog Demos at the Summit County fair from Agility to Tricks and Therapy dogs to name just a few.

Multiple Pet Food Drives and event such as Photos with Santa which support local pet food pantries helping families keep their pets through financial hardships


ABTCA Membership
Becoming a member at ABTCA offers many benefits including:

Connecting with your fellow club members to access to a wealth of information about dogs

Attending member only events such as our picnic, yearly banquet and holiday party

Community and Education events like our Pet First Aid and CPR course

Dog Sports mentorship where you can learn and connect with others who are engaged in dog sports to help you and your dog succeed in your sport

New friends to talk dogs with!
There are two types of membership at ABTCA. Each member must be over 18 years, the cost of each individual membership is $30 annually. We do not offer household memberships.

Associate Members
As a new member, you'll start as an associate member. To become an associate member please email our club ABTCA secretary to request an Akron All Breed New Member Registration Form. Associate members can take classes and participate in club events. Associate members can also earn class discounts by volunteering a minimum of 12 hours in a year.

Full Members
After one year an associate membership you may request full membership by emailing the ABTCA secretary. Your submission will be reviewed and voted on at the next member meeting. A majority vote for membership is required. Full members have the added benefits of voting on ABTCA club items, holding office and serving on a committee. Full members in may receive additional reduced class fee and ‘run-thru’ prices and the benefit of reserving the club *when available.
Volunteering at ABTCA
Akron All Breed Training Club is a volunteer organization. Volunteering is an excellent way to learn more about dog behavior and get to know your fellow ABTCA members.
We offer many volunteer opportunities such as a class helper, volunteering at our annual trial or the Summit County fair. And best of all if you do volunteer the minimum hours (12 hours annually for associate and 20 hours for full members) you receive discounts for your classes.
